Using MaxTap to generate donation amounts

Campaigns and other political organizations have long struggled with determining the “perfect ask” — ask for too much, and you risk scaring away prospects; ask for too little, and you may leave dollars on the table.

We are now tackling this challenge with a new AI-powered tool called MaxTap. Essentially, we use AI to generate a fundraising ask that’s personalized to each supporter in your universe, and optimized for driving revenue.

To use MaxTap, you must be a user of our texting service and our Count On Me donation forms.

Step 1

Build your donation form and copy the URL.

Step 2

Compose your text message, using the MaxTap templating variable in both the message copy and in the URL, as an amount parameter. Please note you need to also add a fallback in case we don't have enough info on a contact to generate a MaxTap value (e.g. prospects) Here’s an example that you could copy+paste:

Please donate ${{ (sb_maxtap_amount or 20) }} today! {{ ("FORM-URL-HERE?amount=" ~ (sb_maxtap_amount or 20)) | sb_link }}

Step 3

Send your message! Recipients will see a personalized ask amount in the text they receive, and that value will be pre-filled when they load the donation form. Of course, donors can choose to donate a different amount if they wish. This is fed back into our logic so that future MaxTap asks are even smarter.
