Using MaxTap to generate donation amounts

Campaigns and other political organizations have long struggled with determining the “perfect ask” — ask for too much, and you risk scaring away prospects. Ask for too little, and you may leave dollars on the table.

We are now tackling this challenge with a new AI-powered tool called MaxTap. Essentially, we use AI to generate a fundraising ask that’s personalized to each supporter in your universe, and optimized for driving revenue.

To use MaxTap, you must be a user of our texting service and our Count On Me donation forms.

Step 1

Build your donation form. Be sure to enable MaxTap in the Donation Settings tab. Publish the form and and copy the URL.

Step 2

Compose your text message. Be sure to insert the form URL as a tracked link (sb_link). This is how we identify the donor loading your form and suggest a personalized amount to them.

Donor has no giving history? We'll use your form default amount

Want to make a specific ask ("$20.26 for 2026...")? Append an amount parameter to your URL and that will override MaxTap

Step 3

Send your message! Donors who load your form will see a personalized ask amount. Of course, donors can choose to donate a different amount if they wish. This is fed back into our logic so that future MaxTap asks are even smarter.
