Describe your audience in Audience Builder (Beta)
Last updated: August 31, 2026
Instead of adding filters one at a time, you can describe the audience you want and Switchboard will build the criteria for you. You can keep describing changes to refine it, and everything it builds shows up as normal filters you can edit by hand.
Try descriptions like:
All donors
Recurring donors in the last 30 days
Folks in the Collective who received a broadcast in the past 6 months and replied at least once but no more than 3 times
Exclude anyone with the "do not text" label
Exclude New York and every state directly bordering New York
Limit it to a random sample of 500
Tips
You can reference a specific label, broadcast, or other item by name — or type
@to search for it directly. You can stack requests in one description, including both who to include and who to suppress.
When refining an existing search, you don’t need to repeat yourself in the description, the changes are additive.
After it builds, review the filters and the preview panel like you would any other audience.
What it won't do
If it can't build the full criteria you described, it will tell you why instead of building something partial.
Hash suppression can't be set through a description yet — add it with the filter directly.
Anything not supported by Switchboard's existing saved search filters isn't supported here either.
This is in beta so give it a try and tell us how it goes: what worked, what didn't, and anything you wish it could do at support@oneswitchboard.com
