Accepting donations via PayPal

Last updated: May 26, 2026

Count On Me forms now support PayPal! One customer found that adding PayPal to their forms increased donations by 2.4x. PayPal donations flow into your org’s PayPal account and from there you can trigger a payout to your bank account.

ADDING PAYPAL TO YOUR FORMS

Organizations already using Count On Me to collect donations can head to Settings to connect a PayPal account. You can connect an existing PayPal account or create a brand-new one. Once PayPal has been connected, all your forms will have the yellow PayPal button, no further action required!

Organizations not already using Count On Me for donations can get started here. After you complete the core onboarding flow, you’ll see the button to connect PayPal.

PRICING

PayPal donations are subject to a transaction fee of 2.9% plus 49 cents. This is different from the transaction fee applied to payments processed via Stripe. This is PayPal’s fee at cost; at this time Switchboard is not adding any markup to Stripe or PayPal fees.

COMPLIANCE

PayPal donations appear in a new tab in our Compliance Center.

DISCLAIMER

Some organizations cannot accept donations via PayPal due to specific state campaign finance laws outside our control. Before setting up PayPal, talk to your compliance or legal team about whether your organization can accept PayPal contributions.
