Skipping existing phone numbers or email addresses that already exist in your organization

When uploading a phone or email CSV, you can choose to skip phones or emails that already exist in your Switchboard organization. This is useful when you want the resulting list to include only phones or emails that were new at the time of upload.

This setting is off by default. When it is turned on:

• For phone lists, Switchboard skips phone numbers that already exist in your organization.

• For email lists, Switchboard skips email addresses that already exist in your organization.

• Existing records and their reusable field values are left unchanged.

  • For example, if 555-555-5555 was already in your organization with sb_first_name Jane, but your list has that same number with sb_first_name Jamie, the sb_first_name data will not be updated.
