Setting up a Limited ActBlue Webhook + Troubleshooting
Last updated: May 7, 2026
Your limited ActBlue webhook will allow you to see only the number of donations and amount raised from messages that you send in your Switchboard account.
Go to the Integrations tab of you Organization Settings in Switchboard
Click + Add New Webhook
Add your ActBlue Entity ID
If you don't know your Entity ID, reach out to an Admin on the ActBlue account to get it
We will then tell you whether or not this Entity ID has already been connected with Switchboard or not
If it is a new Entity ID: We will provide you with the credentials you need to fill out the ActBlue Vendor Form to submit a webhook request
Once the ActBlue Vendor Form has been submitted, or if it is an existing Entity ID: You will provide us with your email address AND the email address of an Admin on the ActBlue account you are requesting for
Select that you want Limited Access for your webhook
Hit ✔ Submit
You and the ActBlue admin will then receive an email explaining how to approve the requested webhook in the ActBlue account
Once the ActBlue admin has approved the requested webhook in ActBlue, they will reply to the email with the word "Approved" and we will activate the webhook in Switchboard!
Troubleshooting Your ActBlue Integration
If your ActBlue integration doesn't seem to be working, there are a few common issues that could be the cause.
The ActBlue Webhook Form Was Never Submitted
How to check: Have the admin on the ActBlue account log into their ActBlue account and go to the Webhook Integrations tab. If they don't see any approved webhook requests, the form was likely never submitted.
What to do: Go to the Integrations tab in your Switchboard account, click "Review Request" on the Entity ID, then "Request Submission Submission Summary" and fill out the Vendor Webhook Request Form. Once submitted, make sure the ActBlue admin on your account approves the webhook request. Once that's done, reach out to Switchboard support so we can confirm everything is connected on our end.
Donations Are Pulling Into Your Account But Not Appearing on a Broadcast
How to check: This is most commonly caused by the fundraising links in your broadcast not being set up for donation tracking. Switchboard can only attribute donations to a broadcast when the links in that message are set up using one of the two supported tracking methods below.
Option 1 — Switchboard Shortlink (tracks clicks AND donations)
In your broadcast, click Edit Message and then Tracked Link to insert a shortlink directly into your message. This will track both clicks and resulting donations down to the individual recipient.
Alternatively, you can use this syntax directly in your message:
{{ "https://actblue.com/yourpage" | sb_link }}
Option 2 — Donation Tracking Without a Shortlink (tracks donations only)
If you prefer not to use a Switchboard shortlink, you can still track donations by using the following syntax in your message:
{{ "https://actblue.com/yourpage" | sb_actblue }}
Note that this will track donation information but not click information — tracking clicks is only possible with a shortlink.
If your broadcast was sent without either of these tracking methods in place, please reach out to us at support@oneswitchboard.com and we can help sort out next steps.
Still not sure what's wrong?
There are a few other things that could be causing problems — such as incorrect credentials, a wrong Entity ID, or a mismatched ref code. These require us to investigate on our end.
Please reach out to us at support@oneswitchboard.com and include:
Your organization name
Your ActBlue Entity ID (if you have it)
A brief description of what you're seeing
